Zimbabwe is the vibrant host of hundreds of festivals and events every year – ranging from international sporting events, music concerts, to local wine tastings and urban markets as well as cultural events. Many of these events and festivals are perfect for the whole family, while others are a little more exclusive. Zimbabwe is the ideal destination for such a range of events because the climate is temperate, the cities and towns are unique and full of character, and the infrastructure is equipped to handle the influx of visitors that love supporting the festivities.

Some of the well known Zimbabwean events are the international Vic Falls Carnival and the Kariba Tiger Fishing, which see more than 30000 attendees coming to Victoria Falls and anglers of all ages from all over the world into Kariba. Other massive sporting events in Zimbabwe include the Victoria Falls Marathon and the Tour De Tuli. Zimbabwe boost of a diverse culture and to celebrate this, there festivals and events that promote and celebrate this diversity. The National Arts Festival in Harare is touted as being the largest annual arts festival in Zimbabwe.

Recently the country added to its many cultural festivals, the Zim Food and Culture festival, which celebrates & showcase the evolution and value of authentic Zimbabwean food, languages, arts, music, crafts and furniture. Other notable festivals and events include the; Harare International Festival of the Arts, Zimbabwe International Film Festival, Chimanimani Arts Festival, Shoko Festival, Intwasa Arts Festival, Zimbabwe International Book Fair, Nyami Nyami Festival, Buja Festival and the Zimbabwe Fashion Week.

The Fashion week is the Zimbabwe premier fashion event whose main purpose is to create a platform for Zimbabwean Designers to showcase their creations. To experience a destination is to get a real taste of its essence and be part of its soul through festivals and events.

Kariba Tiger Fishing Tournerment

The Kariba Tiger Fishing Competition is an annual competition taking place on Lake Kariba in October every year. The tournament has been held each year for over 50 years and takes place over 3 days in Charara on the shores of Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe.
